Port Blair, Mar 24: The Port Blair Municipal Council conducted a draw of lots for selecting 10 winners for the 2ndlucky draw out of the 495 digital payments amounting to Rs. 26 lakhs that were made during the month of February 2017. The digital payments for any amount and for any kind of dues like Water & Conservancy Charges, Property Tax, Octroi, Rental for Shops/Kiosks and Booking of Community Halls etc were included in the draw.
To maintain transparency and fairness in the process, the draw was conducted by Mr. Naresh Chandra Mondal, Sr. Account Officer (Rural Development), A&N Administration. Mr. B. Eswar Rao, Chairperson, Mr.Yashpal Garg, Secretary, Councilors and officers of PBMC were present during the draw.
Mr. B. Eswar Rao, Chairperson informed that the winners will be given the prize money of Rs. 1000/- each in next week at the PBMC Head Quarter. He further informed that the draw will encourage others to make digital payments. He requested all the citizens to clear their dues by making digital payments and participate in the coming draws. The next draw for the digital payments during the March month will be conducted in the second week of April 2017.
