Port Blair, Mar 19: Dozens and Dozens of Autorickshaw Drivers staged protest and road jam on Saturday against a traffic constable of A & N Police who reportedly slapped an Auto Driver, following minor arguments near Cellular Jail.
As per reports the Autorickshaw driver, Mr. Balram Mohori parked his Autorickshaw in the no parking zone near Cellular Jail at around 11: 30 am which led to the argument with a traffic police constable.
Although Autorickshaw drivers are alleging the Police Constable has slapped him, police sources are still refusing to accept it.
Later seeing growing number of fuming Autorickshaw drivers and public, a police team took the Autorickshaw driver for a medical test at GB Pant hospital, where according to the reports it became clear that Autorickshaw driver suffered some ear injuries.
Following this, a protest was organized at Aberdeen Bazaar by Autorickshaw drivers by jamming the road. The Autorickshaw drivers were demanding strict action against the police constable.
Later a complaint in the regard has been lodged by the Autorickshaw drivers at PS Aberdeen. Sources told Andaman Sheekha that tomorrow a delegation of protesting Autorickshaw drivers will meet senior officers of A & N Police.
