Port Blair, Mar 08: A Police Constable of CID Unit, Port Blair, Mr G Ravi, 39 years and a resident of Shadipur suffered major injuries on his head after a concrete slab of the Mohanpura Vegetable Market fell on his head this evening when he went to the market for buying vegetables.
Immediately after the incident the Constable was rushed to the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital where he suffered four stitches.
It was a long pending demand of the frequent visitors and shop owners of the Vegatable Market to repair the Market as it is in a dilapidated condition now.
Hopefully after the incident the Port Blair Municipal Council will get up from deep slumber and take some concrete steps to repair old buildings of PBMC.
