Port Blair, Mar 01: Shri Pinaki Shankar Chowdhury, an eminent writer of Bengali mainstream is at present on a six days’ tour to these Islands.
Shri Chowdhury is basically known / popular as a Satire-Writer, as his notable work of yester years is ‘MAARAAYAN’ – a parody (written in prose) of Ramayan, the great epic. This year, in Kolkata International Book Fair-2017, Shri Chowdhury’s Bengali translation (in verse) of entire Ramayan was published, which hit the bull’s eye.
In honour of this notable Writer, BAAKPROTIMA – an RNI-registered little magazine of these Islands organised a literature-based get-together in its premises at Junglighat on 28th February 2017 which was attended by a number of local writers and artists.
