Port Blair, June 13: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma the President of Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the Lt. Governor to introduce science stream in schools of Kamorta and Havelock Island from this academic year.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. Sharma highlighted about the academic issues of the student community of Kamorta in the Nicobar District and Havelock in South Andaman District, who are deprived of a better future due to non-availability of Science stream for 11th and 12th class in their Islands.
“Students of the above mentioned Islands who want to pursue Science based courses for a career have to travel to other places or islands away from their homes. This displacement of students from their homes and parents for schooling disturbs them and is financially not viable for many poor parents,” Mr. Sharma said in his letter.
