Port Blair, Jan 16: To raise the skill level and open livelihood opportunities for local unemployed youth of the Islands in the Hospitality sector, the Tourism department, A&N Administration in collaboration with the Department of Hotel Management of DBRAIT has commenced one month skill development training programme on the subject “Food Production and Bakery” from 16th January, 2017 at DBRAIT, Pahargaon, Port Blair. Under this course, the students will get an opportunity to learn the basic techniques for preparation of menu such as Indian, Continental, Chinese etc. along with the method for preparing cake, puffs pastry, biscuits and pizzas etc. The fee for above course is Rs.3,000/-.
The Tourism department in collaboration of DBRAIT has decided to organize this course as well as Hospitality certificate course in “Food and beverage services and accommodation operation” in regular intervals on batch wise. The interested inter islands candidates who join the programme will be provided with free dormitory accommodation with nominal boarding charges.
