Port Blair, Dec 19: The Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Bank today on 19th December 2016 organized an Awareness programme on cashless transaction at Conference Hall of the Bank at 3:30 PM. Altogether 83 SHGs members attended the programme. Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A & N State Cooperative Bank, Ltd welcomed the SHG members and informed the benefits of ATM Card, POS Machine, Micro ATM, Phone Banking and Online shopping by describing the usage of Coop Bank Rupay ATM Card. He requested to the members that the Pin secret number, ATM card Number and CCV Number should not be shared. AADHAR enabled POS machines will soon be available in the market so that through our finger tip we can transfer and deposit the money. He further requested to the SHGs member to get the benefit of this awareness programme because now, India is moving ahead of cashless economy so that we all can be aware about the technology based activities.
Smti. Jolly James, Deputy General Manager (IT), briefly explained that the benefit of POS Machine, Micro ATM, Phone Banking and enlisted benefits of online shopping to the SHGs members. She further displayed the POS machine and Micro ATM that will benefit to the buyer and seller so that carrying hard cash will not be a necessity. She informed that the bank has introduced RTGS / NEFT facility, through this we can deposit and transfer the funds to other bank A/Cs holders. She further classified that the online shopping is of two type : Cash on delivery and online transaction.
Shri. Abhinav Pal, AGM (IT) informed to the participants that the ATM card number and CCV should not be shared to anyone and he explained all the brief details of digital banking. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Smt. Elizabeth Mary, Women Development Officer and mentioned that Cooperative Bank is planning to conduct more such cashless transaction programmes for all the sections of the society.
