Campbell Bay, Dec. 11: Under the Promotion of Sports, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Campbell Bay organized Volley Ball Tournament at Mini Stadium, Campbell Bay from 9-11th December, 2016. In this tournament 12 team of various Youth Club participated. The tournament concluded today at Mini stadium, On the occasion The Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay Shri M.K Dwivedi was the Chief Guest and he appreciated the vibrant youths of Campbell Bay in sport sector, but requires regular practice to shine their talent at District level, State level and National level which will lead to achieve their goal through the sports sector, While Shri Barnavas, Chairman, Tribal council, Campbell bay also advised to grace the youth for their betterment by involving in such sports activities other than any anti-social activities.
In the final match played between Manju Youth Club, Campbell Bay Vs Joginder Youth Club, Joginder Nagar with best of 5 and Manju Youth Club, Affra bay defeated Joginder Youth Club by 3-1 set. At the inaugural of tournament, Shri G.Venket Rao, Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti was the Chief Guest and he also suggested youth to maximize involvement in all events organized by the departments.
Another Sports event cycling, for Girls was also organized on 11th December, 2016. In this event 40 Girls from different village of Campbell Bay participated and this is the first event on cycling organized for empowering the girls. On the Occasion Shri Gangan Dweep Singh Grewal, Zila parished, Campbell Bay was the Chief Guest and he started the race by blowing the whistle. In the race girls covered 4 Km from Magar Nallah to Zero point and Miss Padma, Miss Kamila lakra and S. Sumitha stood first, second and third respectively. While Miss Karamjit kaur, Miss Shalini, Miss Karthick Shanker and Ritu Kumati took next fourth, fifth, six and seventh position respectively and all has been considered for consolation prizes.
The theme of the programme was Youth Signify Sportsman Spirit, Shri GC Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kandra, Campbell Bay said that that NYKS main endeavor to organize Sports activities in this regard to promote sports activities among rural youth, facilitate the process to produce sports personalities and to identify rural talent in different areas of rural sports, who can further be nurtured for excellence by other designated departments. He also coordinated the whole tournament and also proposed vote of thanks at the end.
