Port Blair, Dec 07: High waves in the range of 3.0 – 4.0 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 07-12-2016 to 23:30 hours of 09-12-2016 along the west coast of Andaman Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Coco Channel. Current speeds vary between 227 – 286 cm/sec. Under the influence of well marked low pressure area over South Andaman sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal, strong Northeasterly to Easterly wind speed between 25 and 35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph and likely to increase 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph with squally weather and rough to very rough seas likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
In Nicobar District, high waves in the range of 3.0 – 3.7 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 07-12-2016 to 23:30 hours of 09-12-2016 along the west coast of Nicobar Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Great Channel. Current speeds vary between 105 – 154 cm/sec. Under the influence of well marked low pressure area over South Andaman sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal, strong Northeasterly to Easterly wind speed between 25 and 35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph and likely to increase 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph with squally weather and rough to very rough seas likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture in to the sea.
