Ports Port Blair, Dec 06: Due to a very cyclonic weather conditions today two speed boats i.e MV Strait Island and MV Katchal that too with passengers, has taken shelter at two different ports.
As per reports, MV Strait Island has taken shelter at Mayabunder Port whereas Speed Boat MV Katchal has taken shelter at Long Island Port.
It is learnt that Speed Boat MV Strait Island which was scheduled to sail upto Diglipur with only a few passengers will return back to Port Blair tomorrow and will not touch the Diglipur Port.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Director of Shipping Services, Capt (IN) Rajinder Kumar said that the DSS is trying to bring back the vessels safely provided the weather improves a bit.
“Sheltering a boat is the decision of the Master of the ship looking at the safety of the boat and passengers which is appreciated,” DSS said.
