Port Blair, Nov 22: A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) is observing World AIDS Day on 01st of December 2016. To observe this day a series of activities will be conducted by ANACS with school and college students and involving general public including Panchayat Raj Institutions. For North & Middle Andaman district society organized Volley Ball Tournament at Rangat and Diglipur in association with Chief Medical Officers and Deputy Education Officers of the respective area.
The final match of the tournament played in presence of the Chief Guest Shri. Shyamal Mondal, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur, North Andaman, at Vivekanand Stadium, Diglipur on 22nd Nov. 2016 by 03:30 PM between Gram Panchayat, Shivapuram (Young Star Youth Club) and Gram Panchayat, Durgapur (Vivekanand Youth Club). Final match of the tournament was won by Gram Panchayat, Durgapur (Vivekanand Youth Club) by direct two sets 25-18 and 25-20.
The Chief Guest distributed the cash prizes of Rs. 8,000/- to the winner and Rs. 4,000/- to the runner-up team. He also encouraged the youth to come forward and participate more and more like this event. To participated event like this the youth can learn about the disease and game also.
