Port Blair, June 04: Attempting something unique, a burglar entered inside Indian Bank’s Port Blair Branch, aftermidnightyesterday to earn a fortune but a powerful siren installed inside the bank, shattered all his dreams.
According to details available here the burglar had entered inside the bank through a narrow ventilator and to trick the CCTV Cameras, the burglar was wearing a raincoat and had covered his face with a handkerchief.
But his unique attempt, first of its kind in Andaman andNicobar Islands, could not bring fortune for him as when he tried to cut the CCTV wires, a powerful siren got activated. Because of the siren the Burglar ran away from the bank.
The matter was soon reported in Police and a case was registered.
When contacted the Superintendent of Police South Andaman, Mr. SBS Tyagi, IPS, told Andaman Sheekha that investigation has already begun. “The case is first of its kind and we are taking this case very seriously. Investigation is going on,” the SP added.
Today police personnel went to different shops close to the Indian Bank, Babuline Branch, in search of clues. Highly placed sources have however told Andaman Sheekha that a breakthrough is expected by tomorrow. (with inputs from Andaman Sheekha Correspondent, DJ Venkatesh)
