Port Blair, Nov 20: The Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair, celebrated its 43rd Anniversary on 12 Nov 16 at ITF Ground Port Blair. NSRY (PBR) is the premier ship repair organisation of Andaman and Nicobar Command. It renders support to all operational and refit work of A&N Flotilla and is the employer of largest industrial work force.
As part of Anniversary celebrations,a cultural programme followed by prize distribution and Barakhanawere organisedfor the families and children of all the Service personnel and defencecivilian employees. Among other events, harbour cruise, visit to Yard facilities and Floating Dry Dock for families, games, painting competition and Mehandi/ Rangoli competition were also organised.
35specially privileged children from Pranav Kanya Kendra, Delanipur, were the special invitees for the occasion. About 3000 Service personnel, Defence civilian employees and their families attended the event. Commodore DK Goswami, the Commodore Superintendent of Yard was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mrs Anita Goswamigave away prizes to the winners of the competitions and gifts to specially privileged children.
The event was successfully conducted with full support of HQANC and all Units of the Command.
