I am happy to know that the Andaman & Nicobar Administration is celebrating World Environment Day on 5th June along with rest of the world to create awareness of environmental issues. This year’s theme, “Green Economy: Does it include you?” is relevant for all of us. We have to develop these Islands aiming at reduction of carbon emissions and pollution by enhancing energy efficiency. Preservation of rich biodiversity and ecosystem is equally important.
I urge my fellow islanders to extend wholehearted support to the efforts of the Administration in maintaining and preserving the pristine environment of these islands. I wish all success to this programme.
