Port Blair, Nov 15: A robbery attempt was made at the State Bank of India (SBI) Evening branch situated at Aberdeen Bazaar as well as Bhathubasti Branch, Port Blair on Sunday Night. However, the burglars failed to stole any cash from the bank.
The bank staff, reported for work early on Monday morning that too being a holiday, discovered the theft attempt.
After a thorough search, the Police found that the thief haven’t stolen anything but he did tried hard to broke the locker of the bank,
being unsuccessful, the thief then broke the CCTV camera and took it with him. Police sources said that he entered the bank showing his back to trick CCTV cameras.
Similarly, at Bhathubasti Branch some people tried to break inside the branch but they failed to do so.
A case has been registered at Aberdeen Police Station and Tylerabad Police Station in this regard and investigation is on. The Police is still trying to trace the thieves.
