Port Blair, Oct 24: In a welcome move, the Fire Brigade Unit of these islands has said that the unit is ready to conduct Fire Audit for any commercial establishment on request that too free of cost.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Superintendent of Police, Fire Services, Mr Aatmaram V Deshpande said that the Fire Services always audit the Government Establishments like Secretariat, GB Pant Hospital and various other Government establishments on regular basis.
“Our main motive is to safeguard the public from Fire Accidents and thus we are also ready to audit any of the commercial establishment but only on request by the Owners,” Mr Despande said.
Further Mr Deshpande said that the Fire Services Unit is also giving frequent trainings to the staffs of Government as well as Commercial Establishments so that in any case of emergency they can handle the situation till the Fire Brigade arrives.
