Port Blair, Oct 24: Coast Guard (A&N) Intra Region Cross Country Championship was conducted by ICGS Aruna Asaf Ali on 24 Oct 16. Teams representing more than 15 units of Indian Coast Guard participated in the event. The event was flagged of by DIG Pankaj Verma, Chief Staff Officer (Operations), Coast Guard Region (A&N). The aim of the event was to develop esprit de corps, team spirit, camaraderie, competitive spirit and physical fitness amongst service personnel of Coast Guard.
The route was a strenuous stretch of 11 km with terrain varying from plain to steep slopes. Devendhiran V, Nvk of CGAE Port Blair stood first and Ashok Kumar U/Nvk of C-150 came second. CGAE(PBR) won the rolling trophy for Intra Region Cross Country Championship 2016-17.
