Port Blair, Oct 20: Continuing its relentless effort in curbing illegal sale of IMFL, CID Unit of A&N Police seized 141 Nos. of 750 IMFL bottles on 20.10.2016 which was clandestinely concealed in cargo hatch of M.V Badam cargo ship at Marine Dockyard. M.V Badam was scheduled to sail Southern group of Islands on 20.10.2016 with cargo items and the seized IMFL was planned to be sold in Southern Group of Islands. Master of the Ship and Chief Engineer were arrested and a case has been registered in this regard at PS CCS.
General public is requested to inform about any credible information pertaining to illegal sale or possession of liquor/drugs or any other illegal activity on the following telephones numbers – 232586, 233307, 242198, & 100. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
The raid was conducted by a team constituting of Sub Inspector Krishna, HC Surya Prakash Rao, HC ACS Anand, HC VS Ram, PC Yashwant, PC Suraj Kumar, PC Sarfuddin, PC Ravi, PC Jayraj under the overall supervision of SHO CID Inspector Jagdishwar Rao.
