Port Blair, Oct 12: The 02 Days In-service Training Programme on Assessment of Learning Gaps and its remedy including Administrative issues for Head Master (Middle & Primary) and PSTs under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CCS) of Teacher Education held on 03rd & 04th September 2016 at Conference Hall of the Education Office, Car Nicobar
Inaugurating the workshop, the Chief Guest Mr. Deepak Yadav IPS, Superintendent of Police (N), Car Nicobar said that this kind of workshop helps the teachers to share their views on the different aspects of the teaching subjects and to update the knowledge in information technology to face the students in the Classrooms.
Teachers should take extra remedial classes to the poor students to improve the education level of the students.
The Superintendent of Police (N) suggested that the interest can be created among the students if the teachers present the subject matter, in a very simplified way, keeping in mind the educational standard of the students.
Earlier the Coordinator of the workshop Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Education Officer, Car Nicobar explained about the various activities to be understand in the 02 Days In-service Training Programme on Assessment of Learning Gaps. He said that the task of Mathematics teacher in the class is very challenging as the subject is not very popular among the students in this region.
Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Education Officer, Car Nicobar welcomed the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He highlighted the important role played by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray for the development of Educational System in these Islands. Education Officer informed about the percentage increase in results of X and XII for the session 2015-16.
Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray praised Education Officer, Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra, as a great orator and he is highly influenced by his words.
The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands highlighted the various policies and schemes introduced by Government for the welfare of teacher and student community. He spoke about the transfer policies, shipping sectors, communication and tobacco free Islands.
The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands stressed the harsh effects of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, tabs etc on the younger generations. He added that through proper techniques and adoption of different methods, the children may be practiced not to use such gadgets.
The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands highlighted the importance of mother tongue language and the teacher community may prepare suitable learning strategies and planning to enhance the basic knowledge of primary children. He quoted about the great personalities Mr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam and Rabindranath Tagore.
Mr. Huxley, PST shared the experiences and information gathered from the 02 days in-service training programme.
Mr. Sudhakar, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) was the guest of Honour. He quoted that teachers are the most responsible person in the society. He highlighted about the nature and nurture theory for all round development of children and to minimize learning gaps. He also stressed to introduce Magazine reading habits in Schools.
