Diglipur, Oct 05: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman on Wednesday for preparedness and law and order arrangements for Durga Puja celebrations.
The Presidents/ secretaries of Durga puja committees, Police officers, Fire Officer, Food Inspector, APWD Officials were present in the meeting.
The organizers were informed about the prevalent norms and guidelines with regard to fire safety, traffic arrangements, law and order clearances, electricity and cleanliness. They were directed to maintain peace and harmony and function strictly as per norms and only after receiving due permissions. Organizers agreed to comply with these directions.
Organizers directed to follow Guidelines for Idol immersion, safety precautions, limit of decibel levels of loudspeakers, Traffic arrangements, Precautions during electric connections. After the meeting DC along with AC Diglipur, SHO, Revenue authorities inspected three puja pandals and asked the members to depute more volunteers at their Pandals so that they can help the public as well as help the police to control the traffic.
He has also instructed the members to keep all the food safety guidelines and fire safety equipments at the pandals as a preventive measure in any case of emergency. The member of various Durga Puja Committee had assured their full support to the Police during the meeting.
After that Deputy Commissioner N & M Andaman along with Asst Commissioner North Andaman, Revenue Officials, Food Inspector, Police Officials and Fire Officials inspected bars at Diglipur Bazaar area.
