Port Blair, Sept 30: On 19.09.2016, at about 2030 hours an information was received at PS Baratang that some sound of human being has been heard from the opposite side creek of Middle Strait. On receipt of above information SHO PS Baratang along with Police party rushed to Nilambur jetty and after meeting the informer they proceed to the area from where sound was coming by an engine dinghy.
They located one persons namely Pradeep Kujur (21) yrs R/o Bamboo Nallah, Baratang from the creek and brought him to Nilambur jetty. On enquiry he stated that he along with 02 other persons namely Shri. Etwa Minj 40 yrs and Shri Sailender Tirkey (20) yrs both R/o Bamboo Nallah went for catching crabs by halish dinghy in the nearby creek.
After catching the crabs and selling the same while they were returning to Bamboo Nallah their dinghy overturned in the creek but he reached towards the shore by swimming whereas the 02 other persons drifted towards the upstream of water along with dinghy. Immediately the Police party with the help of general public and 02 Nos, fiber boat started search operation and after one hour both the aforesaid persons were located from the creek opposite to Middle Strait jetty and brought to Nilambur jetty safely.
All the 03 persons could be rescued due to timely and sincere efforts by the Police party of PS Baratang and help extended by the general public as well as fiber boat operations setting an example of humanity.
