Port Blair, Sept 28: On 28 Sep 16 the NCC Cadets of Senior Division/Wing (Army) of JNRM, Navy Children school Minnie Bay, GSSS Bathubasti, GSSS Garacharma and Kamraj English Medium School, Brookshabad under the guidance of PI Staff of Armyy, Air Force, ANOs and caretakers conducted a massive Safai Abhiyan at their respective college/school premises in this drive around 270 cadets took part actively.
More than 500 kg solid wastes especially dried leaves and tree branches, plastic water & soft drink bottles, plastic packing paper etc. were collected. Along with cadets school students also joined the drive.
An appeal was made to the students to keep their surrounding clean by throwing garbage in proper places, dustbin etc. Cadets also take oath to devote at least 10-20 minutes time everyday to clean their surroundings.
The cadets were educated about the importance of cleanliness and their responsibility in observing the same at their localities to achieve the “Clean India Mission”.
The Head of institutions and other Professors/ Teachers gave their whole hearted cooperation for the safai abhiyan.
