Port Blair, Sept 25: A theft was reported yesterday from Laxmi Narayan Temple situated at Aberdeen Bazaar.
As per reports, the thief stole the cash after breaking the cash box of the Temple. An amount of Rs 5000 including some gold ornaments were stolen from the temple.
Taking swift action in the case the Station Head Officer, Inspector Mahesh Yadav and his team under the overall supervision of DySP Aberdeen Police Station, Ajay Kumar Rai worked hard in the case and arrested the thief Mr Jogehwar Rao this afternoon itself and also recovered all the stolen amount and the gold ornaments. The thief has been sent to the Judicial Custody, it is learnt.
