Port Blair, Sept 25: As part of the ongoing “Zilla Pashasan Aapke Dwar” campaign, a Revenue Camp-Court was held by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman on Saturday at Panchayat Bhawan, Shoal Bay. Large number of Local residents, general public, PRI functionaries and officers and staff of the line departments participated in the Camp-Court.
Various revenue-matters were taken up for consideration and appropriate directions were issued. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman also reviewed various development activities being carried out by PRIs and other agencies. Issuance of requisite No Objection Certificates for PRI projects and setting-apart land for community purposes also figured in the discussions with the public representatives.
Mr . Sandip Biswas, Pramukh, Panchayat Samity, Ferrargunj and Smti. Mary Pushpa, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shoal Bay, appraised the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman of the various issue concerning the local populace and expressed the hope that such Revenue Camp-Courts will speed up redressal of public grievances and accelerate development activities in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman informed that the objective behind holding such Revenue Camp-Courts in villages is to ascertain the issues and aspirations of the people and to take on-the-spot decisions for redressal of their grievances.
