Port Blair, Jan 12: Vide unstarred Parliament Question No.2997 dated 13/12/2011 Mr. B.P Ray, Member of Parliament has raised in Parliament the present status of Environment Impact Study (EIS) for construction of Rural Roads form Bangaon to Bada Plot, 2.5 km Kishorinagar to Paschimsagar 3.6km. Kalighat to Jaganathdera 3.14km. Badur Tikri to Gandhinagar 5km and Gandhinagar to Shantinagar by APWD.
In reply Mr. Mullapally Ramachandran, Minister of State for Home Affairs informed that the EIS is in progress by an agency who was awarded the work and that the road work can be taken up only after clearance from the Minister of Environment and Forest and as such no time frame has been fixed for completion of these roads.
