Port Blair, Sept 15: Hindi fortnight was observed befittingly at Dr BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology. In line with the notification from GOI and Official language cell of A & N Administration, DBRAIT has implemented use of Hindi in the daily official activities to a large scale. The students have been asked to compose poem in Hindi on the institute. Accordingly, competitions were organised and the students were awarded on the foundation day. To further strengthen and promote usage of national language, various competitions like noting and drafting, Hindi typing competitions were organized to promote interest and motivate the staff in the official language.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dipanshu Singh, Lecturer (HM) compared the official language of mainland and in these islands and appreciated efforts taken in implementing the official language and also suggested not to Google for translation rather consult the concerned for proper words. Smti Sabina Mary, LGC briefed the year long activities about the implementation of the official language. Later, the winners of the competitions were awarded the cash prizes by Dr. Alagusundaram, Principal (i/c) and Mr B.K.Jena, HOD (Mech). Smt S Seema, LGC, Smti Zayda Hussain , PA & Smt Y.Suhasini , LGC bagged the first, second and third position in the Hindi Typing competition whereas Smti Y.Suhasini, LGC , Smti Shashi Purnima, Head Clerk and Mr G.Chinnaiah, HGC bagged the first, second and third position in Hindi Noting & drafting competition. The first three position has been bagged by Smt T.Safia Bibi, DCRA, Smt Sunita Kumari , Library Asstt, Smt Dhan Kumari, TSM for the Hindi dictation competition.
