Poor result upsets students and parents

Port Blair, May 28: The results of AllIndiaSenior Secondary School Examination 2011-12 (Class-XII) have been announced today. Girl student named Kumari Mano Subhashini of Carmel Senior Secondary School, Port Blair out shined others by scoring 96.60% marks. Though results are officially awaited from the CBSE, as per the results downloaded from the website of CBSE, out of 4274 students who appeared in Class-XII from all the Govt., aided and unaided schools inA & NIslands, 2990 students have passed and 866 students have been placed in compartment.
The overall pass percentage ofA & NIslandsstands at 69.96%. However, last year the pass percentage of 76.67 percent, which shows that this year’s result was disappointing.
Mono Subhashini of Carmel SSS stood first with 96.60 percentage, Sumon Betal of Naval Children School stood second at 96.40 percentage, Zeenat Mohammed Jadwet (KV II) stood third with 96.00 percentage, Daivik Saha of KV II declared fourth with 95.80 percentage, N Abinesh Mohan (VKV) was declared fifth with 95.60 percentage, Abhay Kumar Pandey (VKV) scored 95.00 percentage and stood sixth, Aqib Hassan (Carmel SSS) stood seventh with 94.80 percentage, Saheb Kaur Grewal (KV I) scored 94.60 and stood eight, Abdur Rahman (KV II) stood ninth with 94.60 percentage marks while Aparajita Saha (GSSS Model) stood 10th with 94.20 percentage.
Besides this, three schools GSSS Manarghat, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair and JNV, Panchawati, Rangat secured 100 percent result.
