Port Blair, May 28: The officers and men of Andaman and Nicobar Command will bid farewell to Rear Admiral Karambir Singh on 30 May 12 on successful completion of his tenure as the Chief of Staff (COS), Andaman and Nicobar Command.
Rear Admiral Karambir Singh, an alumnus of theNationalDefenceAcademy, Khadakvasla was commissioned into the Navy in 1980. He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College (DSSC),WellingtonandCollegeofNaval Warfare. A specialist helicopter pilot, the Admiral has held varied operational and staff appointments during his career spanning over 30 years. Among the helicopters he has flown are the Search and Rescue helicopter Chetak and Anti Submarine Warfare helicopters Kamov 25 and Kamov 28.
Important assignments of the Admiral at sea include Commanding Officer of a Coast Guard Ship as well as Naval warships including Missile Destroyers. His important staff appointment include Fleet Operations Officer, Western Naval Command, Directing Staff at DSSC as well as College of Naval Warfare (CNW). The Admiral was the Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Naval Command (ENC) prior appointment asCOS, Andaman & Nicobar Command
Prior to his departure to Mumbai to take over as Flag Officer Maharastra andGoaarea (FOMAG), Admiral called on Lt Gen NC Marwah, AVSM Commander-in-Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN).
