Port Blair, May 27: The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) of the Administration has proposed to register Vocational Training Providers (VTP) in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands under the SDI Scheme of DGE&T, for providing short-term Vocational Training in various courses based on Modular employment skills for the skill development of existing workers in the informal sector, school drop-outs and other unemployed youths. The registered VTPs will be reimbursed the training cost upto Rs. 15/- per person per hour in respect of those trainees who are admitted by them and who successfully clear the Assessment Test, which will be conducted at the end of the course by independent Assessing Bodies already approved by DGE&T. Interested entrepreneurs/ Institute can apply for registration as VTPs. All applications in the prescribed performa alongwith the prescribed fee of Rs.2000/- in the form of demand draft in the same ‘Principal Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj’ payable at Port Blair must reach in person or through speed post/ registered post to The Principal, Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj, Port Blair. Application can be submitted any time round the year.
