Port Blair, May 27: Applications are invited from the Malayalee /Tamil Origin candidates settled inA & NIslandsin the prescribed form for allotment of seats which are usually reserved for them every year by the Government of Kerala/Tamil Nadu, for nomination during the current academic session 2012-13. Three seats each reserved for Malayalee Origin students in MBBS, BAMS and B.Sc. Agriculture. The eligibility criteria for these seats candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.
Similarly, one seat is reserved for Tamil Origin students in M.V.Sc. The eligibility criteria for this seat candidates with B.V.Sc. Degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University (OR) any other Degree recognized as equivalent. Further, one more seat is reserved for Tamil Origin student in M.F.Sc. The eligibility criteria for this seat candidates with B.F.Sc. Degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University (OR) any other Degree recognized as equivalent.
A press note from the Assistant Secretary (Higher Education) says that the Malayalee/Tamil Origin candidates, whose parent have settled inA & NIslandspermanently can apply for the above seats, provided such candidates have a minimum of 10 years continuous education in theseIslands.
Applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria are required to submit their filled application form supported with the attested copies of certificates/testimonials to the Development-IV Section, Secretariat, Port Blair on or before 20th June, 2012 upto 5.00 p.m.
Nominations will be issued only after getting the confirmation from the concerned State Governments about reservation of above seats during the current academic year 2012-13. Application forms can be obtained from the Development-IV Section of the Secretariat, Port Blair during working hours at “Free of Cost” from 28th May, 2012to 20th June, 2012.
