Port Blair, May 25: Mr. B.P.Ray, Member of Parliament of A & N Islands has submitted a proposal for extending relaxation of CCS (LTC) Rules 1988 for travel by Air by Govt. Servants to visit A&N Islands upto Indira Point (Great Nicobar). In his letters addressed to the President of India, the Prime Minister of India, the Home Minister of India, the Tourism Minister, of India and the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Mr. Ray referred DOPTs Order No. 31011/2/2003-Estt.(A)-IV dated 18.06.2004, permitting Govt. Employees to travel by Air to Jammu & Kashmir and to visit NER (North Eastern Region) in relaxation of CCS (LTC) Rules 1988 and urged to extend similar facilities to the Govt.
Servants to visit the A&N Islands upto the Southern most tip of India, the Indira Point.
In order to boost the tourism development which may solve the problem of the growing unemployment in this Islands, he urged them to examine and consider favorably to relax the CCS (LTC) -Rules 1988 to permit Government Employees to travel by Air to A&N Islands- particularly Indira Point.
