Diglipur, Aug 11: The Government Senior Secondary School Diglipur teacher, who was arrested on POCSO act on 8th August has been placed under suspension by the education department today.
A class XII student of GSSS Diglipur had lodged a complaint in the Diglipur Police Station against that teacher on 6th Aug. The students of GSSS Diglipur organised Chakka Jam on the ATR stretch near Dolphin Chowk of Diglipur on 9th Aug protesting against the arrest of the teacher.
Meanwhile the Asst commissioner organized a meeting with the teachers and discussed the issue with them and asked to maintain peaceful and healthy atmosphere in the school and said that there should not be any discomfort to the complainant.
The District administration is monitoring the situation in day to day basis without the intervention on the studies of the students. With the swift action of the District Commissioner the strike was withdrawn within two hours. Meanwhile parents of students, who were in the strike, have also raised voice against school for allowing students to come on the road for strike. Many had demanded action against school teachers.
Meanwhile it has been reported that a high level committee has been formed in this regard, which will submit a report very soon. People are demanding to investigate whether there was any consent from the side of teachers of the school for the strike on 6th August.
