Port Blair, August 11: Tragic death of a ten year old boy namely Irfan E Azam studying in Carmel Senior Secondary School at class 5th yesterday has once again raised serious question over the treatment of G B Pant hospital.
As per reports, the boy was not keeping well since last 4-5 days following which guardians of the boy took him to the G B Pant hospital, where doctors gave medicines and said there is nothing to worry about.
When the child did not get well even after 2-3 days the guardians took the boy again to G B Pant hospital where a doctor again gave him medicines and said not to worry. When the guardians asked the doctor to conduct test and wanted to know reason behind the illness, according to guardians the doctor behaved impolitely with them. “The Doctor asked me to sit on his chair if I know more about medicines,” said one of the guardians of Late Irfan E Azam.
Saddened by the behaviour of doctors and treatment of G B Pant the parents took the boy to a private hospital, where the boy was diagnosed with Dengue and Guardians were asked to go to G B Pant for expert care.
When the boy was again brought to G B Pant Hospital and admitted in ICU but later the boy died.
“If the doctor would have treated our son properly during the first visit itself, than our son would have been with us today,” said aunt of Irfan E Azam. Even after repeated attempt the MS of G B Pant was unavailable for a quote.
In recent days dozens of such cases have come to light where people have alleged serious negligence from the side of G B Pant authorities. Like in all the cases in past this is sure that in this case also there will be no action against the doctor concerned perhaps this is high time for the Senior officials to find out what has gone wrong in Andaman’s lone referral hospital.

Definitely its a big question over the treatment of G.B Pant hospital.how can the docter simply simply said not to worry.allopathic treatment based on test not on symptom.they are not a doctor
Doctor must be hanged
