Port Blair, Aug 5: On Thursday, 4th day of World Breast Feeding Week was programmed for various competitions for Auxiliary Nurse Mid-wife (ANM) and students from School of ANM. The students and staffs participated very enthusiastically. The highlight of the programme was a Quiz programme wherein six teams participated. Quiz master was Dr. B. Karthik Kumar, Senior Resident, Paediatrics, Jury was Dr. T. L. RatnaKumari, HOD, Paediatrics, timers were Dr. Vigneshwar Aditya, Junior Resident and Ms. Harsha Singh, CRRI and the scorer was Dr. Anil Jha, Senior Resident from the Department of Paediatrics. It was a high scoring quiz and all the team scored well and for the third place there were four tie breaker rounds. For slogan competition, very nice slogans were depicted and read out. In all there were 12 slogan cards and three were selected for merit certificates. There were two posters depicting early initiation of breast feeding and advantages of breast feeding. There were two participants for elocution competition on the theme of this year’s World Breast feeding Week i.e. “Breast Feeding- Key to sustainable developmental goals”. The programme ended at 4.30 pm and the students were happy to have participated in the programme arranged by the Paediatric Dept. of ANIIMS and they requested to have more such events in future.
