Port Blair, Aug 1: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union on Monday distributed certificates to the trainees who successfully passed the course in Certificate in Tailoring & Fashion designing at Mithakhari Community Hall. The Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Mr Anindo Mazumdar was the chief guest on the occasion, which was attended by Mr Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Cooperation-cum-RCS), Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A & N State Coop. Union (ANSCU), Mr Subir Chander, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr Sanjib Kumar Mondal, Zilla Parishad Member, Mr Shafique, Pradhan, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat, Mr Madhav Majhi, Pradhan, Collinpur, Smt. Sahaya Mary, Pradhan, Humfreygunj, Representatives of Cooperative Institutions, eminent citizens, SHG members and villagers of the area.
In his address, Mr Anindo Mazumder conveyed his wishes to the participants for their successful completion of training programme on tailoring and fashion designing. He further appreciated the initiatives of A & N State Coop. Union in skill development, which is the prime objective of Govt. of India’s plan. He has further informed that self employment is good and vital in India, as the no. of Govt. jobs is reducing day by day. He has urged all the people present on the occasion to come forward and avail the benefits of various Govt. schemes like Dulari scheme, Seeding of Aadhar nos. in Bank Accounts, Swaach Bharat Abhiyaan, etc for the benefits of the general public. He has informed the Pradhan, Mithakhari Gram Panchayat to explore the possibility of Solar Power at their Panchayat as remedial solution for power cuts and also introduction of LED Bulbs instead of normal bulbs. He assured that the matter related to roads shall be taken up in consultation with APWD officials.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU informed that ANSCU has commenced training programme at five centers viz. Mithakhari, Danduspoint, Hathi tapu, Namunaghar Fisheries Colony and Namunaghar (Lepa Tekri) for Tailoring and Fashion Designing, which has culminated for certificate distribution. He further informed that ANSCU is conducting training at various places to generate self employment and help the needy persons to improve their socio-economic life. He has urged the people present on the occasion to come forward and avail training benefits. He also informed that ANSCU is conducting training programmes in various sectors like Tailoring & Fashion designing, Beauty Parlor, Computer, etc.
Mr Shafique, Pradhan, Mithakhari expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary for sparing his valuable time for attending the certificate distribution function. He further informed that ANSCU has organised various programmes for training not only in Mithakhari but also in various Panchayats to generate self employment and assist the persons for upliftment of their economic conditions. He has appraised the Chief Secretary regarding the problems of power cuts and poor conditions of Roads in Gram Panchayat, Mithakhari. Mr Swaran Singh, Director, ANSCU proposed the vote thanks.
