Port Blair, July 31: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration with the support of Ministry of Defence and A & N Command has made arrangements for transportation of civilian passengers in Indian Air Force Dornier aircraft on sector Port Blair – Car Nicobar – Campbell Bay. Accordingly, IAF will operate weekly two flights for the civilian passengers on every Monday and Friday from the Inter-Island helicopter terminal at Port Blair. The services will commence on Aug 5, 2016.
As per the schedule, The IAF Dornier will depart from Port Blair at 8 am and reach Car Nicobar at 9 am. From Car Nicobar, it will depart at 9.45 am and reach Campbell Bay at 10.45 am. On its return flight, the aircraft will depart from Campbell Bay at 11.30 am and reach Car Nicobar at 12.30 pm. From Car Nicobar, it will depart at 01.15 pm and will reach Port Blair at 2.15 pm. The aircraft will carry 10 passengers and each passenger will be allowed to carry a maximum of 10 kgs registered baggage free of cost.
For reservation of tickets at Port Blair, passengers will be required to submit their application to the Assistant Secretary (GA), A&N Administration, Secretariat, Port Blair at least two days in advance for reservation of tickets. The passenger list from the General Administration section will reach Directorate of Civil Aviation by 11 am a day prior to scheduled departure of each flight for issuances of tickets.
At Car Nicobar, passengers will be required to submit their application at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar for reservation of tickets. At Campbell Bay, passengers will be required to submit their application at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay for reservation of tickets.
In the Port Blair-Car Nicobar and Car Nicobar-Campbell Bay sectors, islanders will be charged Rs 2600/- one way while non-islanders will have to pay Rs 6500/- for a one-way trip. For Port Blair-Campbell Bay sector, islanders will be charge Rs 5200/- one-way, while non-islanders will have to pay Rs 13000/- one-way.
There will be no fare for children below two years and those between 2-12 years will be charged half of the prescribed fare. Children above 12 years will be charged full fare. No refund will be allowed for cancellation of tickets and if there is no demand for the cancelled seat, it will go unoccupied due to cancellation. However 20% cancellation charges will be recovered otherwise.
