Port Blair, July 29: A massive Banyan tree today fell in front of Pay and Accounts Office, disrupting traffic for more than three hours. Fortunately, no one suffered any injuries as no one was crossing the busy road, when the tree collapsed because of heavy wind and rain.
As per reports, the tree fell this morning at around 09:30 am damaging the wall of Pay and Accounts Office and electrical lines.
Fortunately due to the electrical lines and a tree in the opposite direction saved some of the vehicles from getting damaged in this accident.
On information a team of Traffic Police reached the spot and diverted the traffic to other directions until the Fire Brigade personnel cleared the road.
