Port Blair, July 26: The Extension Education Institute (EEI), Hyderabad in association with Department of Agriculture will organize four days off campus training programme on “Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Programme and Projects” for the officers of Agriculture and Allied Department in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Agriculture from July 26-29, 2016. The inaugural function was held on Tuesday at 10.30 am. Altogether, 50 officers and trainees are attending the training.
In her inaugural address, Smt. R. Menaka, Secretary (Agri.) expressed gratitude to EEI for considering her request and including this training program on “Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Programme and Projects” for Extension Functionaries of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. She said that lot of importance is given by Govt, of India (GOI) for Agriculture and Allied Sectors aiming for betterment of farmers and fishermen. Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects shows whether the project is going in right direction and is beneficial to the farmers or not. Report writing serves as a guiding light for other officers. Documentation of Projects is beneficial for oneself and for institutional memory. Similarly high lighting Success Story can also help in guiding other officers/ fanners and Fishermen.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr R.Y Singh Joint Director (HQ) and Director ANAMETI said that the topic is very relevant and will be helpful in day to day work of all Extension functionaries.
Dr. K. Madhu Babu Associate Professor EEI, Hyderabad presented the course contents of the four days training programme. He informed that the training will cover topics like need and important of Monitoring and Evaluation, Selection of Key indicators for Monitoring and Evaluation, Sampling techniques, Data collection tools and Report writing. As a part of training programme Field visit will be organized and participants will be collecting data from field, prepare report and interpret the data. Dr. P.
