Port Blair, July 26: In a major relief for the general public of Rajasthan Munch area in Ward No.10, the Port Blair Municipal Council has put into operation individual household connections in the region. Earlier, the residents had to travel more than 150 mtrs down the terrain to fetch water from the public taps. After ascertaining the requirements, the Chairperson, Municipal Council, Smt Sheela Singh issued directions to the concerned officials to prepare estimates and complete the work immediately. Accordingly, Engineering Wing of Water Works prepared estimates amounting to Rs.15,70,715.0 and Rs.3,26,219.0 for laying of 100mm dia DI Line and 65mm & 50mm GI Line. The work was completed with the specified period and the line made operational on July 21.
