Port Blair, July 19: As a part of 67th Van Mahotsav celebration, a mass tree planting ceremony was organized by Forest Extension & Publicity Division at JNRM, Port Blair on Tuesday. Dr. N. Francis Xavier, Principal was the chief guest on the occasion and planted a sapling along with staff and students of the college. Dr. Kandi Muthu, Asst. Professor & Program Officer, NSS welcomed the participants.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, stating the importance of trees & plants in human life stressed on innumerable other benefits provided by them. He urged the participants to plant more & more trees and also to protect them until they are well established and help in maintaining the greenery of these Islands.
