I am happy to know that this year’s theme of the International Day for Biological Diversity being celebrated on 22 May 2012 is Marine Biodiversity. Our Islands are blessed with rich marine biodiversity which shows the resilience of our marine ecosystem, as also the collective effort of our islanders in the protection and preservation of our marine ecosystem, which provides sustainable livelihood to scores of people.
On this occasion, I appeal to all our people to join hands with the Administration to continue to protect our rich marine biodiversity.
