Port Blair, July 4: Smt Rubina Siddiqui and Smt Kiran Tigga, Members of A&N UTCPCR visited the Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair recently to access the facilities available at the airport premises for passengers travelling to and fro from the Andaman and Nicobar islands especially children. The visit was facilitated by the Airport Director, Mr. Khare and Terminal Manager, Mr Kannan.
The Members of the Commission suggested for provisioning of a bed in the nursing room to provide comfortable atmosphere to the nursing mothers and also to provide toys and other playing materials in order to provide a congenial environment for the children and for making the room more colourful and visually stimulating. The Commission has taken up the matter with Airport authorities to facilitate the arrangements for the benefit of children at the earliest.
