To highlight the significance of the Holy Quran and to inculcate the culture of recitation of Quran in the Holy Month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed to the Mankind. The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Andaman Zone organized a Holy Quran Recitation Competition on 26th June 2016 at Ceepees Multipurpose Hall, Wimberly Gunj. The President of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Andaman, Janab. M K Mohammed was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Two different groups with respect to age were divided viz. Juniors and Seniors. A total of 42 students participated in the competition. In Junior Group First, Second and Third prizes were won by Omar Farid, P Mohammed Ameen and Hiba Shireen respectively and in Seniors Mohammed Anas, C Lubna and Nuzha Zubair P K were adjudged First, Second and Third. The President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Andaman Zone Br. P Mujeeb Rehman in his presidential address stressed on the importance of Quran in human life. The Program was concluded by the vote of thanks of Br. N Mohammed Shafique.
