Port Blair, June 19: One-day Neighbourhood Youth Parliament was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Campbell Bay block in collaboration with Sri Annai Aravind Health Care and Social Welfare Trust (SAAHSWT) , on the topic, “ Rural development, women empowerment, economic development, skill development , good governance , sanitation and cleanliness, education and volunteerism .
Shri Rajender pal, Block Development Officer was Chief Guest mainly stressed on all issue to make our social change and economic development. Shri Gagan Dweep Singh, Zilla Parishad Member, Campbell bay was guest of honour. Shri APN Jayraman, Block Samity member, Shri E.S Rajesh, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Laxmi Nagar also present and spoke on this issues and role of youth to overcome from the problem. One active youth Shri Rahul Singh also address to youth for their overall development also.
Altogether 83 participants from different youth clubs and special invitees attended the programme. On the occasion a demonstration on yoga also held by the trainees was coordinated by Ms Shelawathi, BPE, BPEd. Of SAAHSWT.
Shri Joseph John, DYC, NYK, Campbell bay gave the welcome speech and briefing about the programme that Block Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament under the Central Sector Scheme named National Young Leader Programme (NYLP) is to be implemented by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan throughout India.
While Shri GC Biswas of NYK also highlighted main objective of this programme is to develop leadership qualities among the youth to enable them to realize their full potential to contribute to the nation building process. He also proposed vote of thanks at the end.
Earlier a rally for Awareness on Yoga also organized by NYK from Zero Point to Jetty Bazzar to Indira nagar, RPRS colony Forest colony and culminated at Community Hall. In this rally Shri Gagandweep Singh, Zila Parishad, Campbell bay was chief guest and he flag off the Rally, Shri Rajender pal, BDO also present as guest of honour an dother PRI members also present to grace the occasion. Altogether about 80 participants were participated in the Rally from Gandhi Nagar, Joginder nagar, Govind nagar and Campbell Bay. Rally marched with slogans on yoga for health.
