Port Blair, June 19: The Directorate of Social Welfare in association with Sleepwell foundation, Delhi, will organize a Wellness Conclave on June 20 in the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyala here. The Lt. Governor, A & N Islands will inaugurate at the conclave at 10.30 am. The conclave is a part of an overall wellness programme Celebrating Life, which has been conceived and coordinated by Department of Social Welfare as a prelude to a wellness centre to be dedicated to public on June 21 at Quarter No.JG -6, Type-V, Junglighat
According to Ms Namita Gautam, Managing Trustee, Sleepwell Foundation, “The Well-Being Conclave seeks to inform and inspire participants regarding the imperative of adopting PROACTIVE WELLNESS, as the only effective antidote to the lifestyle transformations that we are experiencing today.”
Ms Rashmi Singh, Secretary, Social Welfare (A & N), and a driving force behind the Conclave stated, “We are happy that we could bring this prestigious Wellness Conclave to Port Blair, in partnership with Sleepwell Foundation, because a preventive, proactive approach to wellness is extremely relevant today. In fact, the residents of A & N Islands would benefit from the starting of a Wellness Centre : a one-stop centre for Preventive and corrective wellness being operationalized by the Department in association with other credible partners.
In the wellness conclave renowned experts like Cine actress Ms. Revethi Menon, Ms. Rene Singh Vocal Artiste, Ms. Arvinder J. Singh Corporate Trainer & Psychotherapist and other experts in respective fields of proactive wellness will enlighten the participants in a simple, interesting and interactive manner.
The Wellness conclave would focus on inspiring interest in preventive wellness and it’s various facets,-physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and change in life style, by creating awareness. The conclave will emphasize a holistic approach to health and well-being, with the aim to enhance emotional well-being & reduce depression.
The Conclave will also have stalls showcasing the products and services on Health, Hygiene, food habits and nutrition in the premises of the college. The occasion will also see the launch of a quarterly being published by the A & N Administration to bring out various facets of heritage, cultural and development milestones. Admission is only for invitees.
