Port Blair, May 31: Indian Coast Guard has conducted Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ from 16 to 31 May 16. All the units and ships of Coast Guard Region Andaman and Nicobar including those units located at far flung islands have actively participated with synergy and enthusiasm in promoting Cleaner India and Greener India being the motto of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ programme regained momentum with renewed vigour and determination in the minds of all personnel of this island to ensure greater awareness in the conservation and preservation of environment and energy resources, safe garbage disposal and sustained tree plantation drive in this region for better living conditions of the future generation. The Coast Guard continuously strive to be part of the stake holders of this Region in promoting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to preserve and protect the clean environment and resources of this pristine Island.
