Port Blair, May 30: Like every year, World No Tobacco Day will be observed on May 31 on the theme ‘Get Ready for Plain Packaging’ to create awareness among people about the health risks associated with tobacco and for advocating to quit tobacco consumption. The main function will held in the auditorium of GB Pant Hospital at 10 am. The Adhayaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Smt Minati Biswas will be the chief guest while Dr SP Burma, Jt. Secretary (RNTCP) will grace the occasion as the guest of honor. Similar programmes will also be organized across the islands involving PRIs, NGOs, Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, medical and paramedical staff.
