Port Blair, May 30: In order to facilitate the registration of FRP/OBM boats under IV Rules 2016, four days Modified Serang Course for OBM operators has been organized at Neil Island by the Tourism Department in association with DBRAIT, A&N Police, Fire Department, and Health Department, from 30.05.2016 to 02.06.2016. Approximately 100 OBM operators have registered for the above Course. The main components of the course include Rules of Roads, Storm signal, Navigational mark, basics of First Aid, Lifesaving appliances, Firefighting appliances & Communication. The course will conclude on 02.06.2016.
Earlier a similar Course was organized for OBM operators in Havelock Island and Port Blair. A similar training programme will be organized by Tourism Department at Baratang w.e.f. 08th to 11th June, 2016 at 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM at Forest Labour Club, Nilambur, Middle Andaman. The capsule course will also be conducted at Diglipur w.e.f. 13th to 16th June, 2016 at Turtle Resort, Kalipur Diglipur at 09.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM.
The course fee is Rs. 1,000/- per candidate. All the OBM boat operators are advised to reach at 8.30 am, at the respective place alongwith their two passport size photographs and copy of the Power Boat Handling Certificate, for participating in the course.
