Port Blair, Apr 25: The administration has plans to promote tourism in remote Great Nicobar Bay Island but people of Great Nicobar think that the administration should think about ensuring proper transportation facilities for remote Great Nicobar Bay Island before even thinking of promoting tourism in the geographically isolated Island.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha recently the newly elected State Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party Mr. Sanjay Singh has said that until and unless proper transportation facilities are in place for Campbell Bay talking about promotion of tourism is meaningless.
Talking about Lieutenant Governor’s recent mention about promotion of tourism in Campbell Bay too, Mr. Singh said that it’s a very good initiative from the side of Lt. Governor. “The Lt. Governor always thinks about development of Campbell Bay but for this efforts should also be visible among lower level officers,” he said adding “Today if a tourist anyhow reaches Campbell Bay there is no guarantee whether he will be able to come back Port Blair on time.”
Mentioning about poor transportation facilities he said that if this remains the situation who will visit Campbell Bay and why?
The newly elected Vice President suggested that the flight service to Car Nicobar must be extended upto Campbell Bay and requested the Lt. Governor to create pressure for early extension of runway at Campbell Bay.
“If air connectivity upto Campbell way is achieved then it will not only be a blessing for tourists but also common man. The Lieutenant Governor has turned many dreams into reality and we hopes that in coming days the Lieutenant Governor will continue to bring positive changes in these Islands,” Mr. Sanjay Singh added.

Which officer from mainland is interested in improving the basic infrastructure and life of we Andamanis. There are big players playing in tourism industries and by default they get all support. See how broadband facility got enhanced at Havelock in a month itself and for whom, whereas there are thousands deprived of internet facility in remote Islands. Nowadays, almost all the entrance examinations / colleges accept online registration. Simply put “Where there is a Will, there is a Way”
