Port Blair, April 13: A dead body of a 40 years old lady of UP Basti, Sippighat was found today by police in the Jungle of Sippighat area. According to reports, the woman, wife of a private worker Somnath, was missing from yesterday.
It is leant that after the neighbors and the family members failed to search the woman they immediately informed the Police about the matter.
After the police and the family members started the search for the woman this morning they found her dead body inside the Jungle near UP Basti, Sippighat, which is close to the house of the deceased.
As per reports, someone has hit the woman hard with a baton made up of Areca nut tree, which resulted in her death.
Unconfirmed reports say that a fast track watch and some broken parts of bangle have been found from the spot.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, South Andaman, Mr M A Nausad said that the woman suffered injuries in her head due to which she died on the spot.
Mr Nausad further added that the Police has got some strong leads and the police will find out the murderer soon. It is learnt that the woman has two children.The dead body of the woman has been taken to Manglutan Hospital for post mortem.
